Bolt Face Pocket Bushing

The 9mm and 7.62x25 have a smaller case head than the 7.62x39. The 2XTM build requires a bolt with the smaller bolt face pocket. The conventional solution is to use an AK74 bolt. These bolt have a smaller bolt face pocket but can be hard to find and expensive. This bushing offers the advance builder the option of modifying an AK47 bolt. These bushings are made from 4130 tubing. They are turned down to fit into the recessed pocket of the AK47 bolt face and bored to fit the smaller case diameter. This reduces the inside diameter of the pocket from .454” to .397”. The bushing must be TIG welded into the bolt face. The areas that interfere with the ejector and extractor are ground away. These bushings are delicate and require an experienced TIG welder to weld it into the bolt pocket without burning through the ring.
